MINI SOCCER

Developing the Next Generation of Players

Leighton United FC is one of the few youth clubs in this region to offer FREE sessions of mini-soccer training for young players aged  5-7. Mini-soccer training is an ideal way for players not yet eligible to play in league teams to participate in organised football training following a structured curriculum of age-appropriate practices and skills development with an absolute focus on players having fun.

Mini-soccer sessions will help prepare junior players for playing in teams under organised rules and conditions. It provides young players with the necessary foundation to go on to join teams at age 7 to continue their football development. LUFC mini-soccer sessions are run by fully qualified coaches with all required safeguarding, first aid and DBS verifications and sessions are either run at our dedicated football ground at Tilsworth or at Cedars 3G.

MINI SOCCER TRAINING

LUFC's mini-soccer sessions are designed to cater for players of all abilities, from not having kicked a football to being a player in a lower school team. The principles and practices applied are based on The FA's Four Corner Player Development Model. Each session builds upon the previous one with lots of repeat practice, enabling players to learn at their own pace and form their own understanding of the basic concepts. Players are given plenty of practical time with a football to develop essential muscle memory and physical ability for future sessions to build upon.
